Serviceperson Drainage

Reference: 3783761

Are you interested in supporting the maintenance and delivery of water services to the Wellington region? We are looking for our new drainage service-person who knows and understands the area of stormwater and wastewater maintenance.

People work at Wellington Water because they want to make a difference, and that means you will be helping to look after our most precious assets: water, human health and welfare, and the environment, so our communities can prosper.

This role is for a person who is experienced in the maintenance of wastewater and stormwater systems. You understand the complexity around drainage networks but can specialise in the two areas of wastewater and stormwater. You may already work in the industry or be looking for that next step up where you can take on the challenge of working for New Zealand's second largest water infrastructure company.

We want someone who has a desire to learn and share their knowledge. In addition, you'll have initiative and a positive can-do attitude and most importantly be able to work as part of our close knit team.

You will have an understanding of drainage reticulation systems, relevant trade or proven experience in plumbing or drain laying and knowledge and experience of pipe laying and concrete work. A plumbing and/or drain laying trade certificate is desirable, as is a heavy trade driver's licence. You will be rostered on-call and therefore must be able to work after hours if required. It's important that you can champion a strong health and safety culture as part of this role. You'll be based at our Porirua depot and may work around the region.

So what can we offer you in return?

We're proud of our great workplace culture and will encourage your growth and personal development as part of an operationally focused team. We work with a high degree of ethics and values and are respectful of each other. You'll be part of a great team and have all the support and benefits of a large organisation. We know you'll enjoy working here too!

You will already have the right to work in New Zealand. Visit our website to read about the innovative things we get up to and see a video about working here.

Applicants will be required to undergo drug and alcohol testing prior to commencing employment with Wellington Water.
