Wastewater Technician / Maintenance Fitter

We're looking for someone with previous experience ideally within the water industry. You may come from a mechanical trade background with a trade certificate in fitting and turning. This role is based in Porirua at the Wastewater Treatment Plant.

Due to growth in the catchment area, the scenic Titahi Bay Wastewater Treatment plant is undergoing upgrades and improvements. This is an opportunity to use your knowledge and broaden your skills while working in a collaborative team environment.

Success in the role will depend on your ability to be a self-starter, accurately and effectively assist with the day to day efficient operation of the treatment plant and pumping stations. Overtime and rostered call out work is a key component of this role.

Ideally you will have a national certificate or national diploma in wastewater treatment. If not you will be willing to complete this study.

You will need:

  • Work experience in the wastewater industry, or relevant mechanical aptitude
  • Good interpersonal and communications skills for dealing with internal and external customers and stakeholders
  • Full drivers license and preferably a heavy traffic license as well
  • To be able to meet the physical requirements of the role.
